FAQs
Why use CutKilo for weight loss?
At CutKilo, you get medically supervised weight loss treatment with direct access to Dr Emil whenever you need it — no gatekeepers, no health coaches, no chasing receptionists. Message us on WhatsApp any time for clinical questions, prescription queries, or just reassurance.
Treatment is paired with DEXA scan tracking so we measure what actually matters: visceral fat — the deep abdominal fat that drives insulin resistance, fatty liver, and cardiovascular risk — alongside lean muscle and fat mass. The scales can’t see any of that.
What information do the DEXA scans provide?
Your two DEXA scans — one at the start of your CutKilo programme and one six months in — show exactly what’s changing inside your body.
Each scan measures:
Visceral fat — the harmful fat around your abdominal organs, measured as a precise VAT (visceral adipose tissue) area. This is the number we most want to reduce: it’s strongly linked to type 2 diabetes, fatty liver and cardiovascular disease, and it responds well to treatment.
Lean mass — your total muscle tissue, in kilograms, broken down by arms, legs and trunk. This is the number we most want to protect. Comparing baseline and six-month figures shows whether your muscle has been preserved — and if not, where, so your clinical team can adjust your plan.
Total fat mass and regional distribution — how much fat you’ve lost overall, and from where on your body.
With DEXA’s 1–2% precision, the six-month comparison is genuinely reliable. At six months, you don’t have to wonder what’s changed. You’ll see it, measured.
Where are the DEXA scans done?
DEXA scans are performed at Dr Emil’s imaging centre, DEXA LONDON at 86 Harley Street, London. Using the same machine for both scans is important — it makes the comparison genuinely reliable.
Is CutKilo online or in-person?
CutKilo is a fully online, doctor-led weight loss service. All consultations, prescriptions, and medical reviews are conducted remotely, allowing you to access care from the comfort of your home with ongoing clinical support.
If you specifically require an in-person appointment, this can be arranged by request at 86 Harley Street, London, W1G 7HP, where Dr Emil Gadimali maintains his private medical practice.
Is this a subscription service?
No, this is not a subscription service. Each month, you’ll be asked to complete a short check-in form, which we’ll email to you around 2.5 weeks after your order. The form only takes a few minutes and helps us understand how you’re getting on, whether you’d like to increase your dose, or prefer to continue at the same level for the following month. If you decide to stop treatment, you can simply let us know through the form.
Where is CutKilo based?
CutKilo operates from 86 Harley Street in Marylebone, central London. The clinic is a few minutes’ walk from Regent’s Park and Great Portland Street stations. Because the service is doctor-led and online-first, patients join from across London and the rest of the UK, with medication delivered to your door.

TRADITIONAL WEIGHT LOSS SOLUTIONS
WHAT HEALTHY WEIGHT LOSS LOOKS LIKE
In 2022, 45% of adults in England aimed to lose weight, with 52% of these being women. Sustainable weight loss is best achieved through a balanced, calorie-controlled diet and regular physical activity.
However, restrictive diets can slow metabolism and increase hunger, causing many to regain lost weight. Addressing factors like hormonal balance and appetite regulation is crucial to prevent cycles of weight regain.
WEIGHT GAIN - THE STATISTICS
Being overweight is typically determined by calculating Body Mass Index (BMI), which assesses weight in relation to height. A BMI of 25 to 29.9 indicates overweight, while a BMI over 30 signals obesity – which can lower your life expectancy.
BMI Calculator
*If you have an Asian, Chinese, Middle Eastern, Black African or African-Caribbean family background:
- 23 to 27.4 – overweight
- 27.5 or above – obese
